ABOUT

I whole-heartedly believe my songs do not come from me, but as a gift from God.  A song hits me out of nowhere, and once I've scribbled it all down, I sit and cry in thankful prayers for being sent something so beautiful.  Then, time to rock it out!

I've been performing all my life. I gave my first solo concert when I was 11, and have played across the states.  My favorite genre is rock, but I also am a hardcore classical pianist and have won many awards in jazz.  I think you can hear all of that reflected in my songs; a mix of leather and lace.

More than anything, I am a singer-songwriter, and write from life. I was blessed to do an in-depth interview on Ave Maria Radio over the summer.  You can check that out here. In it, I describe a little of my life story and history as a singer-songwriter.

I have been involved in ministry from a young age and have worked on various church staff over the years.  Since 2015, I have mainly been offering solo concerts and music for retreats as the bulk of my music ministry.  Last year, I was awarded the Markey Fellowship for Outstanding Woman in Ministry through Santa Clara University and am working towards my Master's in Pastoral Ministries.  My focus is on restoration and healing.

I have a couple hundred songs waiting to record and would love to get picked up by a label to get back in the studio (my favorite place in the world), book more concerts, and put my film/video game scores to good use.

About this Album

What started out as a short demo became an acoustic album thanks to friends and family who had their certain requests.  But for me, it is truly a demo.

The most frustrating part as a composer is me hearing all the parts while the listener only gets the bare bones.  I'd love you to hear these songs in full production with the drums, guitars, and strings- the way they’re intended. I enjoy hard rock and “hard classical” such as Rachmaninoff.  In full production, you’d get a meeting of the two; something comparable to Evanescence.  When I was 16, I was sitting at the piano of my best friend/bass player’s house.  I was wearing a satin ball gown with my usual leather jacket and motorcycle boots when he played me Amy Lee and My Immortal for the first time, and I went- thank you!  See, someone besides us gets it.

Some of my favorite songs I’ve written I won’t record without a full band because they go pretty hard and there is already so much lost in translation.  This album is much calmer and very intimately me alone.  Because of that intimacy, it is beautiful in a way that only acoustic can be: vulnerable.  You can hear the hammer strikes, the reverberations of the strings, the garble in my voice, every warble and little sound.  If you turn up the volume and listen closely, you’ll hear a rustle of paper and a clink of the cross around my neck.  It’s as if you’re sitting on the piano bench right beside me, hearing what I hear- me in the raw.

The songs were recorded back-to-back on a Saturday at Black Diamond Recording Studios in Portland, Oregon.

Thank you all for your prayers and support.  It’s been overwhelming.
